Described as one of the worst since 1924. The water that gushed from the river filling the Vembanad Lake and flooded most of the areas in Kerala. Over thousands of houses have been submerged and almost all roads inundated in the unexpected flash floods.

For the first time that people at Kuttanadu, the rice bowl of Kerala, moved out to camps escaping from flood-hit areas to upland. The water levels reached beyond limits. Many boat jetties, hospitals, churches, schools and colleges were under water.

Hope & Support

While immediate aid was sent from across the globe, volunteers and NGOs with the support of the local bodies put their hands together, we wanted to extend our support but with a difference. While the necessities of life, food, clothing and shelter was at stake, we initially supported with the help of Rapid Action Force from Coimbatore office supplying needs by collecting from our associates and relief funds generated for this purpose.

We had decided to extend our unconditional support and beyond. Mr. Ajin & Mr. Hari connected with their family and friends to gauge the actual situation and needs with the support of local MLA and like-minded people. Mr. Sriram, based in Cochin also extended support coordinating with Mr. Mukundan for this purpose.

With multiple associates right from the leadership coordinating across locations, the Pilot batch led by Mr. Mukundan and team visited to zero down on the most affected area that we can support. This time was not just in terms of essential needs, was also on the support that can be provided with our skilled personnel. The needs were not just basic, survival and coming back to normal life was more important and we wanted to utilize our Electrical, Civil and Electronic expertise for this purpose.
